Adult Spiritual Formation
This team identifies and prepares for adult classes, small groups, support, recovery and care groups, and welcomes anyone with a heart to reach out to adults in the area. Alpha, Men’s Ministry programming, care and support ministry, and some classes specifically targeted in the CityBranch area are happening.

Children and Student Ministries Kingdom Quest (Kindergarten – grade 5) Kingdom Quest meets each Sunday during worship during the school year
KQ is CityBranch’s ministry for kids in Kindergarten – grade 5. Children are welcomed and delighted in at CityBranch as they learn about Jesus in a fun and safe environment through Bible stories, games, music and crafts.
Vacation Bible School: City-Wide! June 28 - July 2, Freedom for Youth Ministries Campus, 2301 Hickman Road, Des Moines CityBranch families will have the incredible opportunity to share Jesus’ love with kids and parents all over Des Moines during a citywide Vacation Bible School. PowerLife (Grades 6-8) Wednesdays during the school year
Grade 6: Meets from 6:00-7:15 pm in the Worship Center
Grades 7&8: Meets from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Worship Center
PowerLife is Hope’s confirmation program at Hope West Des Moines. CityBranch PowerLife students also have many opportunities to connect with each other during the week locally.
Ignition: High School (Grades 9-12) Sundays during the school year, 5-8 pm at Hope WDM and House Groups
CityBranch students travel as a small group to Hope WDM on Sunday evenings, then to house groups. CityBranch students also enjoy special events and trips with Hope WDM students.
Communications Ministry Helpcommunicate what God is doing through CityBranch by creatively supporting the work of the church through communication and administration, preparing bulletins and event materials, doing graphic design, creating flyers, newsletters, web site, photography, and more.
CityBranch is focused on building bridges of love and service to the city around us. CityBranch continues to reach out and partner with various organizations, churches, and individuals in the area. Opportunities to serve, befriend, love, give to, andsupport those near and far are available through one-day, short-term, and long-term missions events.
(Breakfast Club) City Branch Homeless Outreach Be a part of a growing group of volunteers that
bring the homeless to CityBranch each Sunday for hot breakfast, Bible Study
and Worship. Your group can drive the bus (requires a CDL), host the
shelter residents, facilitate a Bible Study or pick up and serve the hot
breakfast. Most of these positions are a once a month commitment.
Central Iowa Shelter Meals
Help prepare and serve a warm meal to residents at Central Iowa Shelter in Des Moines.
Events occur throughout the year.
Refugee Community Assistance
Take part in CityBranch’s efforts to befriend, love, and support local refugee families in Des Moines through donations, friendship, and transportation to worship.

Ongoing Partnerships
CityBranch loves to expand God’s kingdom as we partner with other
organizations in the city. Here’s a few ways you can help:
Shalom Zone Ministries: Be a tutor or mentor for children in the
inner city, help serve a meal for those in the neighborhood, or donate
your time and resources to the afterschool program.
Lutheran Services in Iowa Refugee Services: Join a Circle of
Friends group to befriend a new family, donate food or supplies, or
help teach a class on English as a Second Language.
Freedom for Youth Ministries: Volunteer to teach a class, mentor
youth, or donate food and supplies.
Rebuilding Together Des Moines: Join our work crews that partner with neighborhood associations to re-build and beautify local homes.

Prayer Ministry
CityBranch offers a place to receive prayer and a place to pray for others.
What is Prayer Ministry?
The Prayer Ministry supports CityBranch's mission to "reach out to the world around us and share the everlasting love of Jesus Christ" through various forms of prayer.
Why do we do Prayer Ministry?
It's God's desire that we 'pray without ceasing.' (1 Thess.5:17) Through prayer, God connects to us and then we connect to each other.
Would you like prayer?
If you would like prayer or would like your prayer request to appear in the weekend bulletin, send an email with your prayer request to Jon Anenson at jon.anenson@hopewdm.org.
Prayer for healing (spiritual, emotional or physical) Attend the Healing Prayer Service on the 2nd or 4th Monday of every month at 6:30 pm at the Hope West Des Moines Chapel. Receive one-on-one prayer, soaking prayer or talk to a trained care minister.
One-on-one prayer at the service
One-on-one prayer with prayer partners is available after services each weekend at the prayer station in the cafeteria.
Production
As a growing, Christ-centered community there is a need for volunteers to facilitate the audio and visual systems used at worship and by ministries at Hope CityBranch. Training can be provided.
Needs include: Audio Engineer - Provide audio for weekend worship and various events.
Computer Operator - Provide computer support and operation of SongShow Plus, PowerPoint, and other programs.
SongShow Plus Technician - Provide data entry and program set-up of worship events relating to SongShow Plus.
PowerPoint Technician - Provide design and layout of a variety of PowerPoint presentations to further enhance and portray messages and announcements.
Worship Ministry
The vision of the Worship Ministry of CityBranch is to help worshippers experience the truth and love of Jesus Christ in a way that is both welcoming and life changing. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we strive to accomplish this through diverse worship and music styles and excellence in our various ministries of music, drama, design, art, and audio/video support.

Musical Worship Arts
Worship arts glorifies God by submitting artistic gifts to Him and trusting He will direct us to use them by:
Leading vibrant, interactive, community worship, grounded in truth, filled by the Spirit, and excellent in presentation.
Developing worship artists spiritually and creatively, that they might be more fully who God made them to be.
Creating and delivering community outreach and development opportunities through our gifts as artists.
Volunteer Needs: Singers, pianists, guitarists, drummers, percussionists, sign language interpreters, horn players, free-style rappers, beat-boxers, turn-table DJs, accordion players, banjo players, mandolin players, dulcimer players, harmonica players, songwriters…and any other musical gifts that are given for the glory of God!
Visual Worship Arts
Visual worship arts seeks to:
Lead vibrant, interactive, community worship, grounded in truth, filled by the Spirit, and excellent in presentation.
Develop visual worship artists spiritually and creatively, that they might be more fully who God made them to be.
Create and deliver community outreach and development opportunities through our gifts as artists.
Volunteer Needs: Video artists, animators, painters, sculptors, dramatists, mimes, dancers.
Sacred Space Design
This team designs a sacred space which communicates the beauty and power of God and facilitates community worship through design and the manufacture of supporting fixtures.
Volunteer Needs: Interior designers, art installation, stage/set design, lighting designers.
